Lusaka woman among those arrested for murdering veterinary doctor
A 23-YEAR-OLD woman of Lusaka has been arrested along with three men in connection with the murder of veterinary doctor Evans Mwape Mwengwe over a week ago.
Police believe Doris Nduba of Lusaka’s Ibex Hill area turned evil on Dr Mwape after offering her and her accomplices a lift from Kabwe, murdering him and making away with his Mercedes Benz ML.
The veterinary doctor reportedly went missing as he traveled from Kabwe to Lusaka on the evening of June 10.
His body was discovered was two days later partially burnt.
In a statement this morning, police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale revealed that police had recovered the vehicle partially stripped at a house belonging to 42-year-old Josat Tembo of Lusaka’s Chilenje area.
Tembo has since been arrested and detained along with Kennan Jere 23 of Katondo Compound in Kabwe and Keagan Zulu aged 38 of Chalala.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased offered transport to the suspects from Bimas in Kabwe. He was found dead at Six Miles in Kabangwe area,” Mwale stated.
He said the vehicle was partially stripped.
“The suspects have been identified as Doris Nduba aged 23 of unknown house number meanwood Ibex hills in Lusaka, Kennan Jere aged 23 of Katondo Compound in Kabwe, Keagan Zulu aged 38 of unmarked house number in Lusaka’s Chalala area and Josat Tembo aged 42 of house number 467 new Chilenje in Lusaka,” he said
Mr Mwale said preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased offered transport to the suspects from Bimas in Kabwe.
He said the suspects are currently detained in Police custody.
